Famous Players Film Company was formed to produce prestige film productions featuring well-known stage performers. Distribution was handled by Paramount Pictures Corporation (circa 1914 through 1916).
Fire destroyed the Famous Players studio on 11 September 1915. The company was then merged with Jesse L. Lasky Feature Play Company, Incorporated, into Famous Players-Lasky Film Company in [?] September or October? 1915.
