A silent version of the film was also prepared in seven reels (at 6563 feet), but was never released. [?] The silent version may predate the sound version’s production. The silent version featured a different cast, including Robert Castle [André], Oscar Shaw [Stagg], Robert Ames [‘Soapy’], Mack Swain [the general], and Oscar Apfel [the major]. The film ran at the Capitol Theatre in New York, New York, in October 1929. / Full-sound film.
