There was no finalized cover for Scintillation 14, although throughout 1978 I tinkered with cover designs that featured my own photographs of John Shirley and Richard Weholt with the idea that I could beg off some shots of Philip K. Dick and Gene Wolfe.
The piece by Philip K. Dick was a poem about a favorite cat of his that survived a shocking accident.
The article by Gene Wolfe was intended to be part of a loose series of pieces on the mechanics of writing.
I still have the contents of the issue, including the original version of Richard Weholts article, which was later condensed with its first part into an essay that was published in book form as part of the British collection Pulsar 2 in 1979.
I am attempting to reach the writers and their estates to negotiate an online publication of this last issue of Scintillation.
