The 75th Anniversary Celebration of
The General (1926)

The Cottage Grove Historical Society invited silent film enthusiasts and Buster Keaton fans to Cottage Grove, Oregon, for the 75th anniversary celebration of the filming of The General (1926) on 22-23 June 2001.

The two-day event began on Friday, 22 June 2001, with an afternoon mixer and an evening dinner, followed by film showings. Saturday, June 23, included a morning presentation, a luncheon in Cottage Grove, and a guided tour of Buster Keaton locations near Bow River and Culp Creek. Then followed a showing of The General and the informal anniversary celebration party.

An associated event, the First Annual Cottage Grove Film Festival, featured films with Oregon locations.

For information on future events, contact the Cottage Grove Historical Society, PO Box 142, Cottage Grove, Oregon 97424 USA.
