Rialto Theatre was built on the former site of the Victoria Theatre. The initial program in April 1916 included The Other Man (1916) and was headlined by The Good Bad-Man (1916). The venue was operated under the supervision of S.L. ‘Roxy’ Rothapfel. The theater was acquired by Paramount Pictures Corporation in 1919 and began to feature films from the Paramount program, often staging the world premieres of Paramount films.

The theater was sold by owners Paramount Publix Corporation, was demolished in May 1935, and the building rebuilt to new, smaller specifications.
