The Capitol Theatre installed a Kimball theater pipe organ in 1924. Organist Mary Ward played at the Capitol in 1925.

The Capitol Theatre later operated, beginning in the 1940s, as the Telenews Theatre.
The Capitol was located at the northeast corner of 3rd Avenue at Pike Street, current site of a high-rise office building. A Shoe Pavilion retail store currently occupies the street level location of the former Capitol Theatre entrance.
