This box set from Laserlight Digital includes these silent era Hitchcock films: The Ring (1927) and The Manxman (1929). The box set also includes these early Hitchcock sound films: The Skin Game (1931), Number 17 (1932), The 39 Steps (1935), Secret Agent (1936), Young and Innocent (1937) and Jamaica Inn (1939). In addition, the set includes one episode from the Alfred Hitchcock Presents television series, The Cheney Vase (1955).

We have viewed all but The Skin Game from this box set and the video transfers are slightly more contrasty, with a few more visible compression artifacts, than we would prefer. However, we feel that given the low prices on these budget-line DVDs, they still represent a good value for the casual collector.
