This comedy-drama feature, directed by Yasujirô Ozu, stars Tatsuo Saitô and Kaoru Futaba, with Tomio Aoki, Kinuyo Tanaka, Ichirô Okuni, Chishû Ryû, Kenji Satome and Goro Yokoyama.

The film is accompanied by a music score composed and performed by Ed Hughes with The Camilleri Trio and Richard Casey.

Supplemental material includes the surviving fragment of I Graduated, But . . . (1929) (11 minutes); the featurette “Ozu: Emotion and Poetry” with Tony Rayns; and a 40-page insert booklet with essays by Tony Rayns and Alexander Jacoby.

This is our recommended home video edition of the film. North American collectors will need a region-free PAL DVD player capable of outputting an NTSC-compatible signal to view this edition.
