Originally recorded for the King Biscuit Flower Hour syndicated radio series broadcast in North America in early 1972, this compilation of three shows recorded live in England is a companion to the live recording of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway included in the first Genesis box set as a historical record of the Genesis lineup fronted by Peter Gabriel. A bit dated by the time it was released, the album may have been produced from the King Biscuit tapes as a contractual obligation to satisfy Charisma’s North American distribution deal with crappy Kama Sutra Records, the latest Genesis studio album, Selling England by the Pound, being distributed in the USA by Atlantic Records.

We have felt for years that this album could be remixed and expanded, with the inclusion of other songs recorded during these 1972 concerts, to create a broader and more complete historic record of the Genesis lineup known best for its theatrical stage shows and accomplished musicianship.
