Born 14 April 1890 in Quinnesec, Michigan, USA, as Scott Rathbone Beal.
Died 10 July 1973 in Hollywood, California, USA.

Son of director Frank Beal and actress Louise Lester.

Scott R. Beal began film work as an actor circa 1915, but soon began work as an assistant director. Beal began directing in the early 1920s. Among the companies he worked for are W.W. Hodkinson Corporation (circa 1923) and Maurice Tourneur Productions (circa 1924).
