William Fox acquired a controlling interest in West Coast Theatres in 1929, and the theater was operated by Fox West Coast Theatres as the Fox Ritz. The theater was subsequently remodeled and the seating capacity reduced to 1402. The theater was closed in the 1950s, and was subsequently used by producer Mike Todd for a screening venue. The building was demolished in 1977.
