Portola Theatre was a smaller theater that was soon overshadowed by larger motion picture theaters developed nearby on Market Street. Theater operations discontinued in 1928, and the building housed the Gray Line Bus Terminal.

In 1944, the Portola Theater resumed motion picture exhibitions and continued as such until it was renamed the Paris Theater in 1961. The theater closed and was demolished in 1971.
