This US DVD collection of the British Film Institute home video production has been mastered from 35mm film elements, and features additional Mitchell & Kenyon films not in the original program, audio commentary by Dr. Vanessa Toulmin, a featurette on the restoration of the films, an interview with Toulmin, a reading of an essay by Tom Gunning, and more.

Our first look at this disc reveals excellent picture quality, as would be expected from transfers prepared from 35mm fine-grain preservation negatives copied from the original Mitchell & Kenyon negatives. Some dust and imperfections remain, but overall the quality of this edition is excellent. This American edition adds the following films in its bonus section: Diving Lucy (1903), Race for the Muriatti Cup, Manchester (1901), Comic Pictures in High Street, West Bromwich (1902), Royal Proclamation of the Death of Queen Victoria, Blackburn (1901) and Bradford Coronation Procession (1902).

The Gunning essay, read by Paul McGann, includes clips from other Mitchell & Kenyon films including Workers Leaving the Jute Works, Barrow (1902), Employees Leaving Alexandria Docks, Liverpool (1901), Pendlebury Spinning Co. (1901), Street Scenes in Halifax (1902) and Employees Leaving Storey’s Moor Lane Mill, Lancaster (1902).
