Pathé Frères was an early production and distribution company. Pathé Frères also controlled an American company with studios at Fort Lee and Bound Brook, New Jersey, and a studio in Germany under the name of Pathé, and an American distribution company formed in 1914 under the name of Pathé Exchange, Incorporated. A Swedish company named Pathé, controlled by Pathé, was absorbed by Hasselbladfilm to form Filmindustri Aktiebolaget Skandia.
