The film was copyrighted in the United States by Lucky Film Producers on 7 March 1916 and was distributed as a five-reel film by Big A Film Corporation. The play was previously filmed as Macbeth (1911). The play was subsequently filmed as Macbeth (1916). AFI-F1 n. F1.2696 erroniously states that the film is a British production.
Survival status: The film is presumed lost : A print may exist in the International Museum of Photography and Film at George Eastman House film archive.
