Cinematography by Karl Freund [Der goldene See] and Emil Schünemann (Carl Hoffman) [Das Brillantenschiff]. / Premiere 3 October 1919 in Berlin, Germany. / Standard 35mm spherical 1.37:1 format. / Originally released as a two-part serial; second part released in 1920. Part one titled Der goldene See (The Golden Sea); part two titled Das Brillantenschiff (The Diamond Ship). The original German subtitle translates as “The Adventures of Kay Hoog in Worlds Known and Unknown.” Lang also wrote scenarios for two additional films, part three Das Geheimnis der Sphinx (The Secret of the Sphinx) and part four Um Asiens Kaiserkrone (For the Sake of Asia’s Imperial Crown), but the films were never produced.
