Synopsis: [?] [From The Moving Picture World]? A pioneer family, consisting of father, mother, son, young daughter and child are making their way across the plains in a prairie schooner. They come to a pretty spot where they decide to camp and are busy at their work when a guest rides in. He is offered food and made welcome. Each member of the family goes about his work, when the ungrateful visitor attempts to make off with their guns. The child warns them and he is held until the father gently kicks him out of camp, when they prepare to be on their way. Not satisfied with the treatment he received, the vagabond goes to an Indian camp and tells them of the pioneers. There is great excitement and they all make haste to depart. The prairie schooner is again on its way when a western scout warns the family of the approach of the red men. They make every effort to out-ride their pursuers, who steadily gain on them. The scout has, meanwhile, dashed off to get the help of soldiers, who mount their steeds and go to the prisoners’ assistance. It is decided best to alight from the schooner and fight the renegade and his followers. The soldiers and scout make a timely entrance, forcing the Indians away. The scout is rewarded for his aid by a kiss from the daughter, which likewise pleases and embarrasses him.
