American Vitagraph Company production; distributed by Edison Manufacturing Company. / Cinematography by James H. White. / © 4 November 1899 by [?] Thomas A. Edison? / Standard 35mm spherical 1.33:1 format. / The production was shot on 3 November 1899 at the Coney Island Athletic Club arena. This was an unauthorized version of the fight that was not recreated but shot at the event by James H. White, Albert E. Smith and others with a smuggled camera. The production was shot indoors under artificial light. This version was publicly exhibited before the authorized version.
