Synopsis: [?] [From The Moving Picture World]? On their first anniversary, Mrs. Younghubby plans to surprise her spouse with a party. She also tells him not to forget to order coal. She entertains the ladies of the party in the afternoon, and their husbands are to join them for dinner. Mr. Younghubby, with an anniversary present, comes home early, prepared to sneak in through the cellar and surprise his frau. He gets locked in the cellar, and the coal is dumped in on top of him. His wife and her friends send for the police to take the “burglar.” After a wild experience, in which Hubby is arrested, the coal heavers get away with the jewelry, and trouble reigns generally. Matters are straightened out to the satisfaction of all, save perhaps the coal heavers, who spend the night in a rat-infested jail.

Reviews: [The Moving Picture World, 13 June 1914, page ?] Max attempts to hide his wife’s present in the cellar, is mistaken for a burglar and has numerous misadventures. The coal is sent down the chute over him and he is finally arrested and taken to jail. A characteristic number, rising to some rather funny situations at times.
